Love the 1st ep guys…not just saying that; I think all together you guys really work good….together. The writing is funny and captivating, the acting keeps you locked in and gives you an idea of who the characters are and the footage and editing looks like pro-tv. Great first run guys..U desrve to be picked up by a Tv network. Ive read all the scripts this season and if the other Eps turn out like this one you definetly have a winner on your hands. Thumbs up for geeks!!!

@ random geek fan– THANK YOU!! It means a lot, we (the whole shangbang of peeps behind this — cast, crew, extras, momma) love to hear your thoughts.

Also we’re going to set up a blog page soon and episode schedule and all that jazz will be announced there… hold tight for now (or just re-watch this one 4 million times like we have)!

The premiere at Ciné Express was a great idea, guys. If you decide to host another one of those, then may I suggest -> outtakes? :D *pretty please*

@Simon- Cool yeah, we’re working so our editing is tighter, thanks! MAL may spare you when the… “inevitability” comes.

@Janeway- Thanks, heh, he truly is a hybrid of geekitry.

@Elena- Don’t you worry, we have endless tapes…

    @M.C. FilmMakers- Awesome! Stay tuned!!

@Cristina- LOL we knew pfft. It’s called taking “creative liberties”.. something a pysch major.. from… “McGill” wouldn’t understand… :P But I’m glad Gabriel is a true geek! Where’s YOUR cool genes??

  10. 10 Orange Chuck

I could see G4 picking this up with a longer format and a hot female somewhere in the mix(even if she is dressed as a geek who later is revealed to be hot haha). Even geeks like us love to see a hottie sometimes and if she knows geek stuff, even better. Good work and hope to see more soon and see where you go with this.

  11. 11 Jonathan Starr (Producer)

    Orange Chuck,

thank you for the comment, we would love to get picked up somewhere. And yes, we agree with the hot girl comment. In fact we have two girls coming in later episodes. Be sure to keep watching!

  12. 12 Carolyn

    Love the music.

  13. 13 Filipe Monteiro

Well… this is just awesome… the sound quality was superb, the lighting worked out spectacularly… you guys are really good actors and delivered the lines really well. The Director of Photography also did a great job. The logo is simple, yet adequate. I absolutely love the music.

I can’t wait for another episode.
    Great work, guys.

  14. 14 oneak

i wanna see what the computer takes over next…

dont stop guys cant wait till the next one comes out.

  15. 15 G.bei.jor.ann

has potential…but it DRAGS so much… the editing should be looked at if you hope to have this idea picked up by anyone… it’s funny/good, but it just moves too Slowly.
    Love the talking Machine!
    good stuff

  16. 16 Kez

Hey guys, I believe you did a great job, but I agree with G.bei.jor.ann… it DOES drag. The editing has to be tighter. I showed it to a bunch of people, and the same comment keeps on coming back. The editing. I think you have to do some serious work on tightening everything if you want people to be interested more seriously. I would get an outside opinion, or get someone else to do the editing. It’s sometimes hard to be completely neutral when it’s your baby, but trust me, it’s got major potential, follow my advice.
Keep up the good work, can’t wait to see what happens to these guys. When is the next one coming out?!
    We’re only here to help.

  17. 17 Howie

@ G.bei.jor.ann & Kez — love the handles btw! Thanks for the input! We’re about to get Episode 2 out soon and all these comments are really helping us along. We’re also thinking about the entire season’s pacing altogether so hopefully the whole thing will be enjoyable when it’s completed, cheers!

  18. 18 Kez

Hey guys, listen, people completely lose interest if you’re not regular on posting the episodes. It’s been more than a month and a half now, keep your audience posted on what’s going on. So far you guys are acting like amateurs. I say two weeks is the maximum you can wait before posting another episode, it looks like you guys are unprepared and don’t know how to handle it. Everyone is busy doing other things, but you HAVE to commit to what you start, it’s not fair for anyone.
Just thought you would like to know, keep up the good work, but be intelligent about your marketing, IT IS VITAL!

  19. 19 Jonathan Starr (producer)

Thanks Kez for your comments. It will be out shortly at the beginning of January. Our plans were to release it every month, however things came up with our post production team that were unforeseen, and this episode had to be held back. But feel assured that we have been working on it non-stop, recording ADR, editing, music comp, sound design, and some issues with our CC. We’re trying to make it the best it can be. We apologize for not keeping everyone informed.

We’ve also had a lot of discussions concerning what you’ve just mentioned, so yes we understand and we know this. In fact we just shot something 2 days ago for extra bonus content while our editor and sound guy have been working away vigorously wearing themselves down.

Thanks for your comments! Be sure to keep things civil though, we’re doing this for you guys. ;)

  20. 20 Janeway

Ya guys calm down, I personally have seen / worked on film projects before and I don’t think everyone fully understands the amount of time / effort that goes into something like this even after production ends. Not to mention I believe the people working on this are not getting paid, meaning you have to factor in real lives, jobs, holidays ect.. Its a really heavy time of the year for all people of all walks of life. Anyways I just wanted to say this because I feel people are being quite harsh here. Don’t bite the hand that feeds! Be patient and respectful. There is such thing as constructive criticism and non - constructive.

    Happy New Years
    Cheers

  21. 21 Kez

I apologize! I didn’t mean to be offensive, sorry if it came out like that!
And I totally understand the concept of post-production and how time consuming it can be, I’ve been working it this field for 15 years now, trust me, I know!
    Cheers everyone
Happy New Year, I wish all the best for Geeks Underground!

  22. 22 Jonathan Starr (producer)

Janeway, you’re right, this is a completely un-paid project. So that means paid gigs come first for our team. The holidays didn’t help either. We know how to take hard hits with criticism, even if it does hurt. ;) But thanks for coming to our defense!

Kez, no problem. We value criticism, no matter how harsh it may seem to be. You’ve brought up a few good points for us, especially the one about the pacing, which is one of the reasons why we took longer for this edit (we decided to go back and re-work it).

Keep watching guys! Much more content to come! Be sure to subscribe to keep up to date! Early January will be our 2nd episode. :)

*Vulcan Sign* May the force be with you!
